Juknokwon Bamboo Forest
Spanning 310,000 square meters, South Korea’s largest bamboo forest is a must-visit. Chuwolsan mountain (731m)
Resembling a reclining Buddhist monk, this mountain is a stunning tapestry of forests, rock walls, and stones. Known locally for its wild medicinal herbs and rare Chuwolsan orchids, it also features a mineral spring and a serene hermitage, offering a perfect respite before you tackle the steeper sections. While the peak isn’t particularly high, its ascent can be challenging. Metasequoia-lined road
Named one of South Korea’s most beautiful roads,, the Metasequoia-lined road feels like stepping into a fairy tale. Planted in the 1970s, the towering trees now create an enchanting 8.5-kilometer boulevard, forming a lush canopy that shields the road from the sun. It’s the perfect spot for a leisurely walk or a memorable photo op. This picturesque location has also served as a Korean drama filming backdrop for popular Korean dramas such as Mask and My Lovely Sam Soon.
Gwanbangjerim Forest
This unique man-made forest was established to prevent flooding along the picturesque Damyangcheon Stream and is renowned for its stunning beauty. It boasts a variety of trees, some as old as 200-300 years, making it one of South Korea’s most beautiful forests. If you have some extra time, consider renting a paddleboat on the lake or a bike to explore the forest from a different perspective!
