However, South Korea is a paradise for beach lovers as the country has some of the most spectacular beaches in the world, with its white sands and turquoise waters.
Seobin, Udo
A different kind of heaven. It is a place where time stops letting you enjoy the calm moments of your holiday. It is well known in Korea for its clear waters and shiny sand, making it an attractive destination for tourists and locals alike.
Haeundae, Busan
Haeundae beach is not only a beach, but, in some ways, a national treasure too. Probably one of the most visited beaches in Korea, it is almost impossible to avoid the crowds here. It has beautiful waters and sits in a backdrop of the city’s skyscrapers. Various events are held on the beach all year long, thus, you will never run out of things to do.
Eurwangni, Incheon
For those staying in Seoul and wanting to make a quick day trip to the beach, this might be the one for you. Located only 2 hours from Seoul, it offers vast views of the ocean and endless sky. The beach is rather crowded all year-round, as Seoulites often visit it for some relaxation time.
Hajodae, Yangyang
Any surfing fans out there? Regularly visited by some of the biggest waves, the beach is a famous surfing destination in Korea. If you are not a fan of surfing, don’t worry, there is also a beach dedicated for sunbathers as well as a beautiful lighthouse worth paying a visit to! The beach is over 2 miles long, just enough space to fit people of all interests.
Hamdeok, Jeju
The beach is a great destination for families, as it offers all range of activities within its shallow waters. The sand so soft, as if specifically made for the sandcastles to be built, while for a little more adventurous visit, there is also a banana boat and kayak available for rent too!
Naksan, Yangyang
Spreading over 4km, the beach has some of the most stunning walkaways covered in pine trees. Come here for a few days relaxation, and enjoy what the beach and the city has to offer. If you’d like to combine adventure and relaxation, why not hike Seoraksan Mountain before enjoyed the well-deserved beach break?
Daecheon
Famous for its annual mud festival, Daecheon Beach has a crowd of it’s own. The wide sandy beach boasts stunning views of the ocean. However, if you get tired of sunbathing too soon, don’t threat! There is also a famous Gaehwa Art Park and Muchangpo Tideland within a short reach from the beach.
